In between Deva
Prabodhini and Sri Gusainji's Utsava, Abhyanga Snana is done twice during the
winter season.
Ingredients
for Abhyanga Snana.
1.
Phulela - oil of Chameli flowers.
2. Anwala Paste
3. Sandalwood
paste
4. Hot
water
1. Hold
Sri Thakurji carefully in the middle of
your left palm.Massage gently with phulela, starting from the Lotus Feet and
gradually moving upwards.
2. This
is followed by the Anwala Paste massage as above.
3. Rinse
the anwala paste with little hot water.
4.Finally
massage with Sandalwood paste and rinse(In case of double abhyanga, first use
sandalwood paste with saffron and then without
saffron ).
5.Pour four lotis of luke warm water and wrap him in soft cotton cloth (anga vastra)
to pat dry the Srianga.
6.Residues
from step no. 1 – 4 to be collected in
separate trays and immersed in the sea or disposed off in the garden
soil while the residue of step no.5 is used as charanamritam.
Draw a thin fine curve from above the eyebrows till the cheeks ending in a leaf like shape with the help of a salaka. Kamala Patra on the fair svarupa is done with Kasturi (with saffron) or with plain saffron paste. On the syama svarupa it is done with sandalwood paste with saffron.
