Satpi²¢ vyagra loke¾u K¨¾´a eva gatir mama

In lands overrun by barbarians, in places which are nothing but dens of iniquity, among people disturbed by the suffering of the good, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Ga¬g¢di t¤rtha varye¾u du¾°airev¢v¨te¾viha ll
Tirohit¢dhi daive¾u K¨¾´a eva gatir mama
ll3ll

When the most sacred places here, such as the Ganges, are infested with crowds of evil people - when even the deities of these places have concealed themselves - K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Aha¬k¢ra vim¦²he¾u satsu p¢p¢nuvarti¾u ll
L¢bha p¦j¢rtha yatne¾u K¨¾´a eva gatir mama

When even the good are deluded by egoism and follow the way of sin and their only efforts are for wealth and worldly honor, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Aparij®¢na na¾°e¾u mantre¾va vrata yogi¾u ll
Tirohit¢rtha daive¾u K¨¾´a eva gatir mama

When the sacred uttterances have been lost through lack of thorough knowledge and their custodians fail to observe the necessary vows and both their content and the Gods invoked in them have become hidden, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

N¢n¢ v¢da vina¾°e¾u sarva karma vrat¢di¾u ll
P¢¾a´²aika prayatne¾u K¨¾´a eva gatir mama
ll6ll

When all religious actions and religious observances have been obliterated by different doctrinal systems; and when everyone's efforts end up in hypocrisy, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Aj¢mil¢di do¾¢´¢m n¢ºako 'nubhave sthitaª ll
J®¢pit¢khila m¢h¢tmyaª K¨¾´a eva gatir mama

He is known to us as the one who destroyed the sins of Aj¢mila and others. (Thus) He has revealed all His greatness, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Pr¢k¨t¢ª sakal¢ dev¢ ga´it¢nandaka¼ b¨hat ll
P¦r´¢nando Haris tasm¢t K¨¾´a eva gatir mama

All the Gods are created beings and even the Great Brahman has a joy that seems limited. But Hari is absolute Joy. Therefore, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Viveka dhairya bhakty¢di rahitasya viºe¾ataª ll
P¢p¢saktasya d¤nasya K¨¾´a eva gatir mama
ll9ll

Since I am helpless and cling to sin and I am totally bereft of wisdom, patience, devotion and all other meritorious dispositions, K¨¾´a alone is my refuge.

Sarva s¢marthya sahitaª sarvatraiv¢khil¢rtha k¨t ll
¹ara´astha samuddh¢ra¼ K¨¾´a¼ vij®¢pay¢myaham

He is All-powerful, and He makes happen everything that happens everywhere. It is this K¨¾´a whom I invoke as Saviour of all who take refuge in Him.

Tasya ¢ºrayo bhavet K¨¾´a iti ¹r¤ Vallabho 'brav¤t

Whoever reads, in the presence of K¨¾´a, this hymn of praise entitled ""Refuge in K¨a´a,'' indeed becomes his refuge, says ¹r¤ Vallabha.
